I mean defrauding the phone company and cheating at video games.

However like any smart criminal they also teach how to avoid other criminals.

Phreaking is insane today. You must patch directly into the box on the corner.
Gone are the days when your little black box could send tones into the pay phone on the corner.
But then gone are the days of the pay phone but that is a different story.

Anyway it takes more equipment to get the same job done. Expensive equipment. Enough to fund some muggers drug habit for a while.
See where I'm going with this?

In BSoD 1 they teach how to avoid being robbed. Keep that mugger from knowing your carrying over $1,000 in electronics when he's looking for a sucker carrying a $50 cell phone.
Also good if your just carrying a $50 cell phone.

And cheat at Nintendo games. Ohh 9999 lives.
I'd stay away from phreaking unless your needing to make a phone call so bad it's worth risking jail time.
